Hi! I am Flavia
I’m an Italian industrial designer based in Oregon and the founder of Fio Design, a product design studio specializing in toy design, baby products, and consumer goods. I help companies transform ideas into market-ready products through creative direction, concept development, and product design.
Since 2017, I’ve partnered with brands across the U.S. and internationally to design toys, baby products, and lifestyle goods for retail and e-commerce. My European design background shapes my approach to color, materials, form, and storytelling, while years of collaborating with American brands have given me a deep understanding of the U.S. consumer market and retail landscape.
Before returning to industrial design, I spent almost a decade working in graphic design, branding, packaging design, web design, and visual communication. That multidisciplinary experience allows me to approach every project as a complete product experience, considering not only how a product looks and functions, but also how it connects with a brand and resonates with customers.
Whether I’m starting with a rough idea or building on an existing concept, I love transforming ideas into products people can actually hold, use, and enjoy—guiding the process from concept development through production-ready design.
Outside the office
Outside of design, I’m happiest traveling around the World, exploring the PNW, spending time in nature with my dog, experimenting in the kitchen, or getting lost in whatever creative hobby has captured my attention lately. I love spending weekends gardening, foraging for food or crafting material, hosting friends for dinner or game nights, and finding inspiration in the small details most people pass by.
Curiosity has always been a big part of who I am — and probably the reason I love design so much.
Small details matter
fīō comes from the Latin “to become” or “to be made” — a name inspired by the process of turning ideas into something real.
At its core, Fio Design is about transformation: early concepts becoming tangible products, materials becoming experiences, and thoughtful details shaping how something feels, functions, and connects with people.
